Pastoral Search Position Announcement

Lake Almanor Community Church (LACC) is prayerfully seeking to fill the position of Senior Pastor.  LACC is an evangelically conservative, non-denominational, multigenerational fellowship located where the Sierra and Cascade mountain ranges meet in Northern California, near the forested shores of beautiful Lake Almanor. The style of worship is blended, incorporating tradition with contemporary ministry styles and music.

LACC has a congregation that is committed to the vision of empowering all to be active in ministry, with a desire to mature the Church and reach out to the Community and Countries for Him.

The Senior Pastor at LACC will be a man who is called by God to lead a multiple-member staff and must possess excellent biblical team-building qualities.   The church places a high emphasis on filling the position with a man of prayer who meets the qualifications of a pastor, teacher, and elder as found in scripture.

How long does this process take?

  • The search process for bringing on a new Senior Pastor can take anywhere from 3-18 months.  Obviously everyone involved in the process wants it to go as quickly as possible, but ultimately we wait and rely on God.  We want to be absolutely certain that we are bringing God's next pastor to our church.  Please pray for and practice patience as we begin to find God's will.

Who will fill the pulpit in the interim?

  • The Elder Board of LACC is looking into hiring an "Interim Pastor."  In the mean time, they will be splitting the preaching responsibilites among several parties.  Pastors John Erickson and Paul Bernard will be filling in the bulk of the Sundays (as much as their ministries allow), and we will also hear from Elder Chair Scott Cory and from other Elders as well.  Finally, we will be hearing from guest speakers and visiting missionaries.  If you are a qualified speaker who would be interested in delivering a sermon on a particular Sunday, please contact an Elder.
